Season Update: June 6, 2021

The Ontario government has announced that it will allow outdoor team training in groups of 10 or less on or before June 14th. This will allow some Toronto Beaches Lacrosse Club (“TBLC”) programs to proceed and others shall be deferred until September.

As you know we have made a number of plans for our return-to-play and are hopeful that over the coming weeks we will get to see lacrosse back in action. Of course, the TBLC shall comply with all provincial COVID restrictions to minimize risks.

Here are our program updates:

Rep Box Lacrosse

Anticipated to begin the week of June 21st, the TBLC will be running an 8-week program with our Rep players at all age groups (U9-U22) in 10-person pods (9 players + coach) at the Kew Beach box. Details for the program, including registration, COVID protocols, fees and schedule will be sent directly from the Box Rep committee and will also appear on our website.

If you have not yet signed up for more information about this program, or for our U7 (formerly Paperweight) players who were not included in the last version of our return-to-play program, please do so HERE

Girls & Womens Lacrosse

On June 14th (or earlier if the government allows) our Spring Ball house league program shall begin playing in 10-person pods of 1 coach + 9 players. Our U11, U13, U15 and U19 coaches have started to contact players based on their ages (as of 2022) to provide details about how, when and where.

The Ontario Womens Field Lacrosse league (“OWFL”) has announced that it may proceed with a regular season as early as July 10-11 weekend. If OWFL competition proceeds, Rep teams shall be picked based on 2021 OWFL age categories and performance during the 10-person pod sessions.

Regrettably programs for girls born after December 31, 2014 are postponed to Fall Ball in September.

Field Lacrosse

Field Lacrosse shall not begin until September. Details to follow in future updates.

Yours in lacrosse,
