Four team tournament playing for the Jammer Championship.
Each team will play the other teams once in a 3 game round robin format. Winner of the competition shall be determined by the team with the best record after the three game round robin of games.
Men’s FIL field lacrosse rules apply except where stated below.
Teams Must Use Designated Bench:
The team listed at top as indicated on schedule, must use the left-hand bench as teams face the field. The team listed at bottom as indicated on schedule, must use the right-hand bench as the teams face the field.
All games shall have a winner – no ties. If the score is tied at the end of regulation teams will play sudden-victory overtime.
All games are two 20-minute halves (running time), with a 5-minute halftime break.
Stop-time in the last two minutes of the 2nd half, if the goal differential is 4 goals or less.
One timeout allowed per half, no carry-over.
Automatic Stall Warning Rule (“Get-it-in”):
In the last 2 minutes of all regulation time halves, teams must get the ball in the attack zone and keep it in.
Over Time Procedure (Sudden-Victory):
Before the First Overtime period there is a ONE minute break, teams switch ends.
All Overtime periods are 4-minute, Stop-Time.
No breaks between Overtime periods, teams switch ends after each OT period.
No Automatic Stall Rule in Overtime. No time-outs in Overtime.
If after four overtime periods no team has scored, the game is over and the winner will be determined by tie-breaking formula.
In previous years each half and overtime period started with a draw ball at centre, regardless of man up/down status at the end of the previous half / OT period. That exception is being removed. Rule 10.22 (Field Manual) applies (if there was possession in a man down situation at the end of the half / period, possession will remain with that team in the same relative position after switching ends).
If after overtime teams are still tied, the tie-breaking methodology listed below will determine the winner.
1 – Least expulsion penalty’s throughout all games played by end of current game.
2 – Least banishment penalty’s throughout all games played by end of current game.
3 – Least personal penalty minutes throughout all games played by end of current game.
4 – Least technical penalty’s throughout all games played by end of current game.
5 – If still tied, Coin toss. Team from the right-hand bench calls the toss.
Order of Finish
The final standings will be based on overall win-loss records. If there is a 2 or 3 way tie the following tie breaking methodology listed below will determine the final standings.
1 – Team with the best record vs each other (head to head).
2 – GF/(GF+GA)*** for the tournament – only relevant for 3 way tie
3 – Team with the fewest goals against for the tournament.
4 – Team with the least expulsion penalty’s for the tournament.
5 – Team with the least personal fouls for the tournament.
6 – Team with the least technical fouls for the tournament.
7 – A coin toss will determine the winner.
*** In the spirit of The Jammer (“Remember to always pass the ball to everyone around you, not just those to that will catch it and put it in the net, but to those that might fumble it, for they will catch it in their hearts and remember you for the pass”), the maximum GF for any game will be 7 more than the GA.
– i.e. if Team A beats Team B 12-1 the tie breaker will use 8 as the GF and 1 for the GA for that game
All tournament Committee’s decisions are final.
